Back to School, What Ever Will You Do With Your Time?

It is hard to believe that summer is over and kids are returning to the daily grind! Although there is a bit of sadness at seeing your children gone Monday through Friday, most will not have a hard time filling the space. Those first couple of weeks do tend to be a little lonely while you adjust to solitary days. Why not fill that time reconnecting with those friends who you’ve been missing for months with a back-to-school soiree? These are the best ideas for a back-to-school celebration that’s designed for adults only!

Lunch Time, Fun Time

Sure, the real saying is “Sunday, Funday” but you can put a new twist on things. What feels better than playing hooky and doing something that might be frowned upon by some, without your friends? While the kids are away, the adults have every right to play. Break out the bubbly and have a mimosa post-drop off, drop in. It is a great time to ease some of the back-to-school blues, by turning your newfound downtime into a blessing.

Invite Newbies

As hard as it is sending kids off to school, remember how hard it was when it was your first? If you have an established group of moms you like to spend time with, consider inviting others who aren’t a part of the group yet. If you put some newbies on your list, you will not only meet new friends; you will help to ease the sadness that some first-time school moms are trying to shake. It can be a festive time for all.

Get Others Involved for Good

If you are a part of the community looking for other members or a PTO person, why not enlist people to do good with you? People get much more excited about joining a group when they enjoy the other members and have a good time. Host a party to rev up excitement for your passion and form a group for good. It is a win-win situation. When you get others onboard, you not only work together, you can play together too!

Make it Casual

Now that school is back in session, many parents will have to return to adulting, which means returning to work or increasing their workload and hours. Even if it might be a bit more difficult to keep the party going, consider having an old-fashioned “open house” where those who can stop in, can. It is nice to see as many faces as possible, and if you leave the time open and flexible, you can enjoy more connections.

Hold it in the Great Outdoors

With the return of school, there will also be a return of the fall and cooler weather. Now is a perfect time to have your affair outdoors and whimsical. Make the best of nature by having a casual picnic where you can finally relax and let go of the stress of summer. When you hold a picnic outdoors, you can leave your cell phone and agendas behind and focus on truly enjoying downtime away from screen time.

Let Us Do the Work!

Do you know what the best part of school starting is? You are not doing for everyone else all day long. Start your newfound freedom by letting us set up and take down your get-together. As the kids head off to school, most parents have mixed feelings about it. The fall is when we are no longer responsible for our children’s daily fun and entertainment, but it can also come with some sadness and loss. You can take just one day before you get back to cleaning up after letting things fall by the wayside all summer and we will take care of it all. Contact us and get those invites out today!
